RÖKK Out With The Lonely Island. Andy Samberg & Friends Promote Swedish Vodka.

The Lonely Island is that hilarious musical trio consisting of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer. The emmy-winning songwriters and performers have been making videos together since 2000 and have appeared on The Emmys and in many SNL digital shorts.

Known to bring slap-stick comedy and pizzazz to any performance, the guys have embarked on their first role as Creative Directors behind the new Swedish vodka – RÖKK. The trio is responsible for the brand’s consumer engagement, which includes creating digital material to market the brand and help introduce RÖKK, the premium priced, freeze filtered vodka.

Below are the videos they've created for the RÖKK Vodka brand.

BEHIND THE SCENES OF "EVERYBODY LIKES ME":

About RÖKK Vodka:

THE RÖKK RUNESTONE
(Swedish: Rökstenen) is the most famous runestone in Sweden, featuring the longest known runic inscription. It is considered the first piece of written Swedish Literature and therefore marks the beginning of recorded history in Sweden.

PURE SWEDISH SPRING WATER
RÖKK is made with clean water from glacial sources in Kalby, Sweden - the picturesque countryside five hours west of Stockholm. The spring is adjacent to the distillery and is renowned for its ultra-crisp, clean water.

FREEZE FILTRATION
After distillation, RÖKK Vodka is brought to sub-zero temperatures and then filtered through frozen charcoal to remove impurities that cannot be removed using traditional filtration processes.

Freeze Filtration raises the PH levels, reducing acidity, and giving RÖKK its unmistakable smoothness. (RÖKK is the only premium Nordic vodka that is freeze-filtered for exceptional smoothness.)

Lady Gaga Au Naturel by Inez & Vindooh for her You & I video and Harper's Bazaar

We are so used to seeing Lady Gaga in outrageous outfits, accessories and make-up, or as her alter ego Jo Calderone, that her look gracing the cover of the October issue of Harper's Bazaar is a refreshing change.

Images from the editorial:

Dutch photography and directorial duo Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shot her on the set of her You and I video (shown below). In both the video and the editorial, the music star is showing her little monsters a side of her not often seen. Wearing a custom-made dress by Hussein Chalayan, she sports an unmade-up look on the cover, the inside editorial and in the video.

Although not actually make-up free, Lady Gaga's no-makeup look is made with Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation ($29.15), Prep + Prime Highlighter ($23), Brow Gel ($15) and Prep + Prime Lash ($15). All from M.A.C.

2011's Hottest Pitchman? Marshall Mathers aka Slim Shady aka Eminem In 3 New Ads.

Christina Aguilera botched the National Anthem at Super Bowl, the Black Eyed Peas halftime show was a disappointment and the match-up between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay packers proved to be an exciting one.

But two of yesterday's most talked about commercials that aired during the Championship Game both featured someone who'd been laying low in terms of screen time for the past few years, Marshall Bruce Mathers III, aka Slim Shady, aka Eminem. And that's not all. In addition to these commercials featuring the rapper, the 53rd Grammy Awards - in which Eminem has earned 10 nominations - is being promoted with a visual and aural 'life story' of the Midwest celebrity.

As a Claymation pitchman in the Lipton Brisk ad, he effectively pokes fun at himself. As a Die-hard Detroiter, he adds an edge to the Chrysler 200 launch ad, which has proven to be a sentimental favorite. In the Grammy promo, his career is chronicled as part of the Recording Academy's 'Music Is Life Is Music' campaign.

In case you missed them, here are the three tv commercials presently on the air, featuring Eminem.

All I Want For Christmas Is... Jews

Melissa McQueen impersonates Mariah Carey and sings a hilarious version of "All I Want For Christmas"

Lyrics:
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS... JEWS
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is...
Jews

I wont ask for much this Christmas
I dont even wish for snow
Just want a Jew who runs show business
Speilberg, Stiller Ari Gold
I will make a list and send it
Of my choices for St. Nick
Seinfeld, Zach Braff and Jon Stewart
Are the boys with a big schtick.
Cause I just want them here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
Ill take Zac Efron too
all I want for Christmas is Jews.

Menorah lights are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the big box office
Makes Jews millionaires
They may have killed our savior
That's not the best behavior
That's ok he rose again three days later
and now I'm an active J-dater

Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas
Gentile boys are such a bore
Goldman, Weissman, Cohen, Levy
These are names that I adore
Oh I just want a chosen one
Hebrew boys are so much fun
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is
Jews

Another classic Jewish Christmas video, if you never saw it, is this wonderful SNL short by Robert Smigel sung by Darlene Love;

Stop Motion Laser Burnt Toast For OK Go's Last Leaf Video.

The latest video for OK Go's "Last Leaf" is a lovely and sweet stop motion animated video featuring the illustrations of artist Geoff Mcfetridge on actual toast.

The charming video was made by burning toast with a laser and shooting still images of each piece of toast. It took 15 still shots for every second of video and 2,430 pieces of toast were used. And if you're wondering.... all 215 loaves of bread were past their sell-by date & rescued from certain disposal for the shoot.

Directed by OK Go, Nadeem Mazen and Ali Mohammad of Serious Business Design. Produced by Shirley Moyers, the piece was made in partnership with Samsung NX100 iFn, and Create Your World.

What's That Weird Hand Dance Video? Meet Irish Dancers Cleary & Harding.

This wacky and mesmerizing video has been rapidly climbing the viral charts since its debut on YouTube four months ago. A strange song accompanies a man and a woman at a table in front of an oddly decorated wall engaging in a choreographed 'hand dance.'

What is it? Who are these people? If these questions have plagued you like they did me, read on.

It turns out that this video, We Speak No Americano, is from Up & Over It, self-described as "Irish Dance for the Post-pop generation." A collaboration between Suzanne Cleary, Peter Harding and Jonny Reed, Up & Over It aims to stretch the concept of Irish Dance to its limits.

The duo spent four years with Riverdance, after which they toured with Magic of the Dance where they were quickly appointed artistic directors. They now perform as Up & Over It for live audiences and has created a series of videos of their performances as well as some multimedia films produced by Puck Productions. Here's a few more of their videos for you.

Here Lies Love By David Byrne & Fatboy Slim

HERE LIES LOVE by David Byrne & Fatboy Slim

Here Lies Love – A Song Cycle deals with the life of Imelda Marcos, co-ruler of the Philippines in the 70s and 80s, as well as the life of Estrella Cumpas, the woman who raised her.

Through a series of songs written by David Byrne, with musical contributions from Fatboy Slim (Norman Cook), Songs from Here Lies Love presents Imelda Marcos meditating on events in her life, from her childhood spent in poverty and her rise to power to her ultimate departure from the palace.

In particular, the production looks at the relationship between Imelda and a servant from her childhood, Estrella Cumpas, who appeared at key moments in Imelda's life.

To be released April 6th 2010 on Todomundo/Nonesuch Records

“The story I am interested in is about asking what drives a powerful person—what makes them tick? How do they make and then remake themselves? I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be great if—as this piece would be principally composed of clubby dance music—one could experience it in a club setting? Could one bring a ‘story’ and a kind of theater to the disco? Was that possible? If so, wouldn’t that be amazing!”

—DB, from the introduction

The album is available in multiple formats (MP3, FLAC, Apple Lossless, and CD/DVD).

The Band:
David Byrne – guitar, vocals
Joan Almedilla – “Imelda” vocals
Ganda Suthivarakom – “Estrella” vocals
Paul Frazier – bass
Graham Hawthorne – drums
Mauro Refosco – percussion
Thomas Bartlett – keys
