Digitally Printed Glass For The Home By Sprinz

above: goldfish printed on glass doors turns a shower it into an aquarium

Sprinz of Germany makes lovely glass items for both commercial and residential applications. Etched and colored glass doors, shower enclosures, walls, stairs and more. Now they also have digitally printed glass and as you will see in the following images, it's a great way to add some color and life to an otherwise traditional utilitarian product.

Artwork (in pms colors), photography, even typography can be printed on the glass:

Shower doors, enclosures and bathroom walls take on a life of their own when images are digitally printed on them:

Other possible applications for the digitally printed glass are on the front of a radiator like the one shown below:

Jonas Samson's Light Emitting Wallpaper Becomes Ecco Luce.

above: detail from the new Ecco Luce installation in an Amsterdam railway station.

Just over 2 years ago I wrote about Jonas Samson's unusual light emitting wallpaper project.

Since that time, the much blogged-about prototype has evolved into his Ecco Luce, a personal light emitting wall in which there are embedded LED lights.

When off, it appears as a normal wall, yet when turned on, an interplay of dancing and moving lights turns the wall into an art installation.

The lights, which are remote-controlled, can appear through the wall as a pattern, moving or static images, as well as motion-activated. Built of individual panels, the largest measuring 120 x 300, the panels can be combined to create as large an image as desired. The LED lights can be RGB or white.

Below are images (followed by a video) of an Ecco Luce installation at the Sciphol Train station in Amsterdam that just went up April 15th:

And an installation in Milan:

A very interesting way to add kinetic beauty to any environment. To arrange a meeting or discuss bulk buying investment possibilities, you can reach Jonas at:

Curved Solid Wood Plank Flooring! Design Winning Waldilla

This is such a nice change from the linear wood planks and flooring you usually see. Recipient of the 2009 Red Dot Design Award for product design, Germany-based Waldilla makes subtly curved solid wood flooring available in Oak, Fumed Oak, Birch, Sycamore Maple, or American Cherry.

With just the right amount of organic curvature, it's not enough to make you dizzy or to stand out too much, but just enough to blend and complement any style of furnishings from Victorian to Modern.

The best way to understand it to see it. So here's a gallery of the flooring for you (images courtesy of Waldilla):

B+N Industries is an innovative designer and manufacturer of products and systems for the retail, architectural, and consumer industries (available to the trade only). With the launch of their Iconic Furniture in February, 2009 and new additions to their Iconic Panels (great looking modern carved wall panels), they have a huge selection of modern architectural accents that are both good for your decor and the environment.

Iconic™ Panels and Furniture are exclusive lines of product made from of elegant carved relief panels designed and manufactured by B+N Industries. Inspired by important and enduring people, places, and design movements, the decorative panels feature unique patterns and colors that can dramatically enhance interior environments.

Iconic Panels are created using an innovative process of formed laminate over a carved wood core. Incredibly durable, they can be sewn, nailed, screwed, glued, or simply mounted on walls with B&N’s special Panel Cleats. Iconic Panels are available in various colors as well as in eco-friendly reclaimed wood and can also be easily outfitted with any of their shelving and accessory hardware.

The Patterns: (click on the images to enlarge and see detail)

Available in either various over all colors or with the carvings only colored as shown in the examples below:

Reclaimed wood panels are available in the patterns as well:

Iconic Furniture are intelligently-designed, substantially-constructed pieces that feature Iconic Panels as the door and drawer fronts. They are currently available in three Iconic Panel Patterns: Helsinki, Albert, and Palm Springs. (shown above in the patterns).

With a variety of colors of panels, and the addition of Walnut cases and shelving, many combinations of bold color and warm wood are available. Because the fronts are made from the durable Iconic Panel process, they are easily cleaned, and can withstand repeated and prolonged use in public locations, such as hospitality and contract interior projects.

The Iconic Furniture collection consists of credenzas, armoires, wall mirrors, room divider (or screens) side tables, headboards, dressers and two chairs. Please click on the images below to enlarge.
